| Seto boasts 1300years of history as one of Japan's six ancient kilns. Kanematsu Nagae , a Master of Mold Design for porcelain who resides in the Seto area, is a successor to the NAGAE name, famous for its traditional techniques since its founding in 1908. Mr.Nagae presents rich and copious forms and spirit via hi porcelain ware. His works are marked for thier superior quality fostered by gen-erations of history as well as modern designs which are not bound by historica precedents. | 1908 : Founder Kanematsu Nagae graduates with the inaugural class from Japan's first school of ceramic engineerring, where he learns prototype manufacture skills. 1910 : The Nagae Prototype Factory opens. 1936 : Sada Nagae leads the business in its second generation. 1940 : Taizo Nagae leads the business in its third generation. 1980 : Katsuhiko Nagae leads the business in its fourth generation. 1992 : Kazuya Nagae leads the business in its fifth generation. 2004 : The first works will be on display at the restaulant MEGU in New York City. 2007 : The outlet moves to Tokyo Midtown in Tokyo Roppongi. |
